Happy wedding to my dear, dear friend Emily! 

She and her groom looked stunning. It was so fun to watch them smiling and staring and loving each other through the whole reception. 

The cake was fun (and messy) to decorate, but it was worth every sprinkle.

Rainbow Dash Party

My sweet, little niece turned the big 4 this month! She is an avid collector of Rainbow Dash paraphernalia, so the only logical thing to make for her cake was this:

 For those of you who don't follow the show, that's Rainbow Dash's cutie mark. She earned her mark when she discovered racing and went so fast she created a SONIC RAINBOOM! You can educate yourself here. 

The best part about making a cake for a kid's party is surprising them again and again. My niece was excited about the decorations on top, but she never expected a rainbow inside her cake let alone extra candy at the center! A child's sugar dream.

Unlike many store-bought cakes, this one actually tasted good. It had cream cheese/whipped cream frosting and I used homemade applesauce in the cake batter. It was moist, colorful and delicious. Plus, Skittles and Sixlets!

Happy Birthday!!!

My sweet cousin's little girl turned 5 last week and we surprised her with a Mickey Mouse cake to celebrate. She was so excited! She kept telling everyone Mickey is her favorite :)

Even though the frosting is the highlight for the kids, I kept the butter cream frosting only mildly sugary so the adults would enjoy it as well.

I made a french vanilla funfetti cake with a layer of vanilla pudding in the middle. It was so fun to see the kids reaction to having sprinkles inside the cake :)

Baby Peter's Party Cake

IT'S A BOY!!!

A friend of mine is moving into her 9th month, expecting a baby boy and so I threw her a little party and included this little birthday cake for her little man

This is a dense chocolate cake with a touch of fruit: applesauce in the cake and blueberries on top. Frosted with cream cheese frosting, of course!

Custom Spring Wedding Flower Set

We are gearing up for my dear friend Emily's wedding in a few weeks! (Stay tuned to see her wedding cake too) We thought we would practice some flower arranging to get a good idea of what she would like for her big day.

This was the most fun to create! White roses, alstroemeria and daffodil bridal bouquet. It turned out to be such a happy, spring-time bouquet! We added a brooch and a trail of pearls down the side for elegance.

AND! Instead of leaving the bottom of the stems exposed, we decorated them with some more bling! 

The pins on the bottom really gave the bouquet an elegant look and tied the whole piece together.

A custom bridal bouquet with matching boutonnieres and corsages are a beautiful part of any wedding plan, but you don't need to break the bank to get your hands on them! 

Instead of spending $200-300 on these details, you could spend it on your honeymoon, things you'll need for your apartment/house, going out on a few dates, paying of your ______ or saving up for ______.

Happy 26th birthday to ME! I had a great ol' day and got to spend time with the people I love.

Christmas Daisy Cake

This is the cake I made for my brother's wedding last Christmas. My sister-in-law wanted something elegant and simple with a real Gerber daisy to top it.

My younger brother got married around Christmas and had a beautiful

For the Teal Wedding

After pricing out several cake options for her wedding, my best friend asked me if I would be willing to make her wedding cake for her. Having been married just a few months before and knowing how insanely expensive it is to get even a simply decorated cake, I agreed.

(The couple's colors were teal, black and silver)

While I was at it, she asked me to come up with some boutonnieres and corsages for the families. Teal flowers are tough to come by (especially in October), so we went with white roses (for the men) and carnations (for the women) with silver, black and teal highlights.
