Christmas Daisy Cake

This is the cake I made for my brother's wedding last Christmas. My sister-in-law wanted something elegant and simple with a real Gerber daisy to top it.

The top layer is chocolate cake and it is frosted with buttercream

My younger brother got married around Christmas and had a beautiful

 red, brown and cream themed wedding.

Even the groom got a lily

I also did 5 corsages for the women in the party (white carnations with red ribbons) and 4 boutonnieres for the men (red Gerber's with red ribbons)

For the Teal Wedding

After pricing out several cake options for her wedding, my best friend asked me if I would be willing to make her wedding cake for her. Having been married just a few months before and knowing how insanely expensive it is to get even a simply decorated cake, I agreed.

(The couple's colors were teal, black and silver)

While I was at it, she asked me to come up with some boutonnieres and corsages for the families. Teal flowers are tough to come by (especially in October), so we went with white roses (for the men) and carnations (for the women) with silver, black and teal highlights.
